1. Purpose of These Terms

These Terms are intended to ensure transparency regarding submission fees, editorial review, and the nature of participation in Red River Review. Submission fees support the operational and editorial costs of running the Journal and do not constitute the purchase of a product, service, or guaranteed outcome.

2. Eligibility

By submitting work, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  • You are the original creator of the work submitted or have full rights to submit it.
  • Your submission does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

3. Submission Fees

Red River Review charges a $10 USD submission fee for each submission.

Important Clarifications:

  • The submission fee covers editorial review only.
  • Payment of the submission fee does not guarantee acceptance, publication, feedback, or inclusion in any issue.
  • Submission fees do not entitle the submitter to receive a physical or digital product.
  • Submission fees are non‑refundable, regardless of editorial outcome.

By submitting work and paying the fee, you acknowledge that the fee supports the review process and the ongoing operation of the Journal.

4. Editorial Review Process

All submissions are reviewed through a curated editorial process.

  • Acceptance is based on editorial judgment, thematic alignment, quality, and issue needs.
  • Editorial decisions are final.
  • Red River Review is not obligated to provide individualized feedback.
  • Submission volume may limit our ability to respond to all inquiries.

We reserve the right to decline any submission at our discretion.

5. No Guarantee of Publication

Submitting work and paying the submission fee:

  • Does not guarantee publication
  • Does not guarantee inclusion in a quarterly issue
  • Does not establish a contractual right to publication or compensation

Publication occurs only upon written acceptance from the editorial team.

6. Rights and Permissions

By submitting work:

  • You retain full copyright to your work.
  • If accepted, you grant Red River Review first publication rights and the right to archive and display the work as part of the Journal, both online, in print, and in promotional materials related to the issue.

7. Payment Processing

Submission fees are processed through a third‑party payment processor.

  • Red River Review does not store your payment information.
  • We are not responsible for technical issues or errors originating from third‑party platforms.

8. Refund Policy

All submission fees are final and non‑refundable, including but not limited to situations involving:

  • Editorial rejection
  • Withdrawal of submission
  • Technical issues after successful submission
  • Failure to read or understand submission guidelines

9. Limitation of Liability

Red River Review shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of opportunity, income, or expectation related to submission outcomes
  • Technical interruptions or data loss beyond our reasonable control
  • Editorial decisions made in good faith

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the website. Continued use of the site or submission of work constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
