PURPOSE OF MEMORY

(Lebanon, Panama, Grenada, Kuwait)

something to drink to
to drink for
the pieces of time
that hang on
like flesh
in the bars stateside
where
if you listen
you'll hear them
remembering

the loudest
have nothing
to say
