Scrolling

looking through the local marketplace adds
when there is nothing in particular
I want or need
must be symptomatic of some disorder
borderline personality perhaps
I’ve always wondered what that is specifically
Now I don’t have time to look it up because
I have frittered the morning away scrolling
what have I accomplished with this seemingly
useless activity
I have avoided facing all responsibility for living
as an adult in my current psycho-social milieux
I have given myself full opportunity to recognize
and seize upon any outrageously underpriced
item listed in the page after page of junk and jewels
but with the availability to find the value of anything
in seconds there aren’t any bargains
and I would not recognize them without said research
and I don’t want to do the research I just want
to find the underpriced gem
I have allowed my mind to be occupied by static
instead of purposeful thought for an extended period of time
and what is time but pain if you let it be
